Nun rape case: Accused Bishop Mulakkal seeks copy of doctor's statement

The defence counsel also filed a petition in the court alleging that various statements by sister Anupama are interfering with the administration of justice and misrepresenting the court proceedings.

In yet another twist in the Kerala nun rape case, the accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal has now sought a copy of the statement of the doctor, who had examined the rape survivor.

Meanwhile, the Pala Magistrate court has ordered the investigation officer to give a copy of the statement to the defence counsel.

According to a report, the court has also directed the prosecution to hand over a copy of the statement of Sister Lissy Vadakkel, one of the key witnesses in the case. The defence counsel had also asked for the copy of the sister Lissy's statement.

The court has fixed August 26 as the next of hearing in the case.

The defence counsel also filed a petition in the court alleging that various statements by sister Anupama are interfering with the administration of justice and misrepresenting the court proceedings. After hearing the matter, the court said it will pass an order on the petition.
