With a dip of 13.2%, India records 50,407 new Covid cases in 24 hrs

With 804 more fatalities reported in the country in the last 24 hours, the death toll has mounted to 5,07,981

India recorded 50,407 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 13.2 per cent lower than yesterday, according to data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday. This brings the total caseload to 4,25,86,544.

With 804 more fatalities reported in the country in the last 24 hours, the death toll has mounted to 5,07,981.

India's recovery rate now stands at 97.37 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, active cases declined by 87,359, bringing the total active caseload at 6,10,443.

The top five states which have registered maximum cases are Kerala with 16,012 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 5,455 cases, Karnataka with 3,976 cases, Tamil Nadu with 3,086 cases and Rajasthan with 2,890 cases.

As many as 62.33 per cent of the new cases are reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 31.77 per cent of the new cases.
