Antilia Bomb Scare Case: Vaze wanted to regain his clout, says NIA chargesheet

According to the chargesheet, Sachin Vaze was reinstated in the police service by the competent authority and was posted at Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU), Crime Branch, Mumbai as in-charge of the said unit and was allotted office chamber in the office of the Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), 4th floor, Crime Branch, Mumbai

The motive behind parking the car laden with explosives near Antilia by Sachin Vaze was to regain his lost clout as an encounter specialist, stated the chargesheet filed by NIA.

According to the chargesheet, Sachin Vaze was reinstated in the police service by the competent authority and was posted at Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU), Crime Branch, Mumbai as in-charge of the said unit and was allotted office chamber in the office of the Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), 4th floor, Crime Branch, Mumbai.

"Investigation has further revealed that, Sachin Waze (A-1) being incarcerated for a long time wanted to regain his clout the ace detective/encounter specialist. Hence he conspired with others to place the Scorpio vehicle laden with Gelatine sticks (explosive) and threat note addressed to industrialist Shri Mukesh Ambani and his family and parked the vehicle near the latter's residence, in order to put Ambani family into fear of death and to commit the terrorist act [sic]," the chargesheet read.

The SUV laden with 20 gelatin sticks and a threat letter addressed to Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani was found on February 25 near their residence Antilia on Carmichael road in South Mumbai.

Following this, the person who had handed over the SUV to Sachin Vaze, Mansukh Hiren was found dead on March 5. His body was found in the Creek near Mumbra.
