BJP Yuva Morcha leader murder: Karnataka Police arrests two people

All 21 of the suspects in the case had been detained earlier in the day by the police, who claimed they were all PFI and SDPI members

Two persons were detained by the Mangalore police on Thursday in relation to the death of BJP Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru. It has been determined that Shafiq Ballere and Zaqir Savanuru are the defendants.

All 21 of the suspects in the case had been detained earlier in the day by the police, who claimed they were all PFI and SDPI members.

On Tuesday night, Nettaru, a native of Nettaru in Bellare, was slain in the highly charged Dakshina Kannada area of Karnataka. He was killed by three bike-borne individuals who attacked him as he was returning home after shutting his broiler business.

Following the murder, there was a lot of unrest on Wednesday in the Dakshina Kannada district, with reports of stone-throwing and police use of lethal force.

The state administration was the target of anger from the BJP and Sangh Parivar followers who claimed that it did nothing to defend the lives of Hindu employees.
