DCW Chief Swati Maliwal molested, dragged by drunk driver in Delhi

As per the police, the driver, identified as Harish Chandra, suddenly pulled up the glass window when Maliwal was reprimanding him for asking her to sit in his car

At around 3 am on Thursday, the director of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), Swati Maliwal, was harassed by a drunk driver and pulled for 10-15 metres. The driver, who is 47, was taken into custody.

As per the police, the driver, identified as Harish Chandra, suddenly pulled up the glass window when Maliwal was reprimanding him for asking her to sit in his car.

The Indian Penal Code Sections 323, 341, 354, and 509 have been utilised to accuse the defendant.

The police were notified by a patrol car that a woman was being pulled by a white Baleno automobile near AIIMS gate number 2 at 3:11 am on Thursday.

When she declined, the man drove away before making a U-turn and coming back in the constrained adjacent lane.

When he tried to force her to join him in the car, she reached into the window to catch him, but he allegedly put up the window, trapping her hand.
