Ex-Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal Summoned in Kotkapura firing case

Parkash Singh Badal was Punjab's chief minister when police opened fire on protesters on October 14, 2015, killing two and injuring others

Former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has been summoned by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the Kotkapura police firing case. Prakash Singh Badal has been asked to appear before the SIT on June 16.

Parkash Singh Badal was Punjab's chief minister when police opened fire on protesters on October 14, 2015, killing two and injuring others. Parkash Singh Badal has been summoned to investigate who gave the orders for firing.

The notice read: “You are hereby called upon to appear in person along with relevant record before the SIT on 16/6/2021 at 10.30 a.m at PSPCL rest house at Mohali for investigation in above said cases.”

The Punjab government had set up an SIT, headed by ADGP LK Yadav after the Punjab and Haryana High Court rejected the probe of an earlier SIT and gave a clean chit to the Badals.
