A 16-year-old girl in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal allegedly killed her father for assaulting her mother.

The teenager allegedly beat her father to death on Wednesday evening in Bhopal as he used to get drunk and assault her mother, according to a TOI report. She murdered her father with a bat used to wash clothes and a lohangi, a stick that has two iron rings.

After the crime, she dialed 100 and surrendered to the police.

Police said the girl's father was unemployed and depended on his eldest son, who works as mason, for earning. He used to get drunk almost everyday and beat his wife -- the girl's mother.

On the day of the incident, the girl's family was discussing about the eldest son's marriage when her father started "quarelling". Enraged about this, the girl picked up a bat and hit her father in the head. She kept on beating him as her father bled profusely and then picked up a lohangi to hit him again, the report stated.

A case related to the incident has been registered by the police and the girl has been sent to a juvenile home.
