On Tuesday, the 56-year-old suspect who had been detained for threatening Reliance Group CEO Mukesh Ambani had appeared before the 37th Magistrate court in Mumbai (August 16). The magistrate court has ordered him to remain in police custody through August 30.
The suspect was transported from Dahisar to the DB Marg police station in South Mumbai on August 15 and was identified as Vishnu Bhowmik.
The prosecution has asked for ten days of the accused's incarceration, claiming that since the call was made on Independence Day, there was a reason and an intention behind it. Why didn't he do it on another day? Why did he call Mukesh Ambani alone when there was a danger against him? Therefore, this is not a straightforward situation and the offence is highly serious.
The prosecution also noted that the defendant is a repeat offender and urged the court to take this into account.
