NIA raids 23 places in Andhra, Telangana in case related to PFI

As many as 23 teams of NIA officials simultaneously conducted searches in Nizamabad, Kurnool, Guntur and Nellore districts

National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials raided multiple locations across different districts in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. Members of the Popular Front of India (PFI) have been picked up for questioning in connection with instigating violence and illegal activities.

Officials also raided a house in Telangana's Nizamabad district and issued a notice to a man to visit the NIA office in Hyderabad on Monday.

As many as 23 teams of NIA officials simultaneously conducted searches in Nizamabad, Kurnool, Guntur and Nellore districts.

Officials have already picked up PFI district convener Shadullah, and members Mohammad Imran and Mohammad Abdul Mobin for questioning during these searches. They are being questioned for instigating violence and illegal activities/training under the guise of teaching karate.

While NIA searches were underway in Nandyal and Kurnool, several locals protested against officials who arrived there and raised slogans asking them to return.
