According to the police, the woman was identified as Pranjali Sachan, who also claimed that two other suspects were on the run

A lady was detained by the Noida police on Monday for her alleged involvement in a job scam where victims were defrauded of employment offers abroad.

According to the police, the woman was identified as Pranjali Sachan, who also claimed that two other suspects were on the run. They seized $160,000 along with multiple stamps, receipts for visas, and passports from Bangladesh and India.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Saad Miya Khan said, “A complaint was received at the Sector 63 police station in which the complainant alleged that he was defrauded by a gang promising him a job abroad. It was found that some people would make fake visas in the name of sending people abroad.”

Manjeet Singh, the complainant, claimed that in September he had met a man named Vishal who was looking for work abroad. Later, he met Vishal, Pranjali, his spouse, and another friend, Tarsem Singh. He claimed they demanded a price of Rs. 5 lakh for each person and promised him permits through a Guatemalan firm for himself and his relatives.

Manjeet said he paid Rs 10 lakh in cash to Vishal on December 5 while another Rs 9.5 lakh was given via Tarsem’s account. He then handed over ten passports and was told to pay the rest of the money after getting the visas, according to the FIR.
