TV actor booked by CBI for running child sexual abuse racket

The Mumbai-based man is being charged with running an International child sexual abuse material racket. His victims include children and minors from the United States, Europe, and South Asia

The Central Bureau of Investigation has booked a small-time TV actor under the charges of the POCSO and IT Act. The actor is based in Mumbai and was running an international child sexual abuse material racket. The Mumbai-based man is being charged with running an International child sexual abuse material racket. His victims include children and minors from the United States, Europe, and South Asia.

The accused had contacted over 1000 minors in the age group of ten and sixteen years through Instagram. Posing as a film star, he contacted minors and then lured them in sharing sexually explicit objectionable pictures and videos.

The accused then sold the content to his customers abroad through encrypted social media applications. CBI special unit recently conducted raids and searches in Mumbai and seized his mobile phones and laptop. A list of his customers both in India and abroad has been prepared.

The accused, a native of Haridwar, had acted as junior artists in some television serials.
