The Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari presented the prestigious awards to luminaries from across various fields

Dr Jaswant Patil, MBBS, MD (Chest), BHMS (Homeopathy) and MA (Alternative Therapy), was felicitated with 'Champions of Change, Maharashtra Award 2020' on 30th September, 2021 at a gala ceremony that was organized at Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, which witnessed participation of luminaries from across various fields of arts, science, sport, social work and politics. The Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari presented the award to Dr Jaswant Patil for his exemplary work in integrating allopathy and homeopathy in healthcare and for the role of health culture in promoting preventive healthcare through immunity boosters.This award added yet another feather to the cap of Dr Patil who is recognised for his stellar service in the field of healthcare for the past 35 years.  

Dr Patil is an esteemed member of the Maharashtra AYUSH Task Force, which has been at the forefront of controlling Covid-19 cases. He was one of the first doctors who figured out the effectiveness of Arsenicum Album 30C (Aa 30C), a homeopathic drug that India’s Ministry of AYUSH prescribed through an advisory in the context of immunity against Covid-19 pandemic. In April-May 2020, Dr Patil administered homeopathy medicines for boosting the immunity to 100 police personnel with due permission from the Superintendent of Police in Malegaon.Going a step forward, Dr Patil has also distributed free homeopathic immunity boosters to about 45lakh people in Mumbai, Alibaug, Jalgaon and Nashik. In addition, he has treated more than 1,000 cases of Covid-19, particularly at a time when there was a health infrastructure crisis in the form of shortage of ICU beds and medical oxygen.

'Champions of Change, Maharashtra Award 2020' is an award instituted by Interactive Forum on Indian Economy (IFIE), which is a government of India recognized non-profitable company, dedicated for the development and welfare of women and children of rural India including 115 aspirational districts promoting the values of Mahatma Gandhi. 

The awards are presented to diverse set of personalities who have achieved excellence in their respective fields while inspiring many to excel. The prominent political personalities who were presented the award included former Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil, and Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole, among others. Motilal Oswal, Co-Founder, CEO, MD and Director of Motilal Oswal Services, was among the personalities from the corporate world who were felicitated on the occasion. From the world of cinema, actors Jackie Shroff, Nawazuddin Siddqui and Dia Mirza, among others, received the awards.
