The first ever Champions of Change Madhya Pradesh Award was held on 12 April 2022 at Kushabhau Thakre Hall in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh). Eminent personalities from the state of Madhya Pradesh were honoured for their immense contribution towards the society. Hon’ble Governor of Madhya Sh Mangubhai Patel felicitated the awardees.

The program was presided over by well-known journalists Dr. Ved Pratap Vaidik and Dayakar Ratakonda (former Indian diplomat) as advisors and members of the award selection committee, and the program was presided over by Dr. Ved Pratap Vaidik. Devendra Pratap Singh Tomar, General Secretary, IFIE.

The recipients of Champions of Change Madhya Pradesh Award included Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Former Governor of UP and Mizoram Dr Aziz Qureshi, Music performer Padma Vibhushan Teejan Bai, Mayor of Indore Malini Laxmansingh Gaur, Rajya Sabha MP Syed Zafar Islam, Indian actress Divyanka Tripathi , Indian film actor and lyricist Piyush Mishra , BJP leader Vikram Verma, Banwari Lal Chouksey, Dr Bhagirath Prasad, Kalapini Komakali, Sudhir Bhai Goyal, Girish Agarwal, Dilip Suryavanshi, Abhijeet Sukhdane, Aarya Chavda, Rohit Singh Tomar, Megha Parmar, Vikas Bhaduaria, Priyanka Dwivedi, CEO of FidyPay Manan Dixit, Mayur Sethi, Renu Sharma, Dr Prakash Jain and Rajneet Jain.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan is an Indian politician and member of the BJP. He is the 17th and current Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, having been elected to the same position 3 times in the past, and an MLA in Madhya Pradesh from Budhni. He previously served as the Chief Minister of the Madhya Pradesh, between 2005 and 2018, and holds the record as the state's longest serving Chief Minister.

Dr Teejan Bai is a leading performing artist and a contemporary exponent of Pandavani, a narrative singing of the Mahabharata, the ancient Indian epic. Although she suffered doubly in Indian society from prejudice both as a woman, and for her tribal background, with her rare artistic gift and powerful determination, she has kept singing. Her success has given courage and encouragement to women and those suffering from repression.

Malini Gaur is an Indian politician serving as the mayor of Indore. She is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She became mayor in February 2015 by defeating her nearest rival Archana Jaiswal of INC by 2.8 lakh votes. Consequently, she became only the second woman to do so after Umashashi Sharma. Her husband Laxman Singh Gaur, was the former higher education minister of Madhya Pradesh who died in a car accident near Dewas in February 2008.

Aziz Qureshi is an Indian politician and a senior most Indian National Congress leader. He had previously served as 15th Governor of Mizoram. He has also served as the Governor of Uttarakhand and also appointed a Governor of UP.

He was appointed chairman of Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy on 24 January 2020 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. In 1973 he served as a Minister in Madhya Pradesh, later in 1984 he was elected to Lok Sabha from Satna (Madhya Pradesh) constituency.

Syed Zafar Islam is an Indian politician and an MP in the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. He is the national spokesperson of the BJP. Islam is a former investment banker and the former Managing director at Deutsche Bank. He is regarded as one of the prominent Muslim leaders of the party.

Vikram Verma is an Indian politician and a leader of the BJP from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. He formerly served as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the Rajya Sabha. He also served as a Minister in the Govt of India for Youth and Sports Affairs from 2002 to 2004.

Kalapini Komakali

Endowed with a wholly original, melodious and extremely rich voice, Kalapini is widely recognized as one of the finest and well - trained classical vocalists of the younger generation. She is the daughter and disciple of the legendary Pandit Kumar Gandharva and has also been trained by her illustrious mother, Vidushi Vasundhara Komkali. Kalapini learnt from her distinguished parents not only the technique and grammar of her art but also inherited a capacity for creativity and reflection.

Divyanka Tripathi is a popular Indian actress. She started her career with superhit serial ‘Banoo Main Teri Dulhann.’ It was the iconic show for Divyanka Tripathi that changed her position in the industry.

Later she appeared in famous shows like Mr. and Mrs. Allahabad wale, Chintu Chinky Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story, and did the reality show named ‘Khatron ke Khiladi’. She became a household name after portraying the character of Ishita Bhalla in the famous Star Plus show ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’.

Piyush Mishra is an Indian film and theatre actor. Also, he is known for being a well-known music director, singer, lyricist, and scriptwriter.

After completing his studies, Mishra established his career in showbiz as a theatre director, actor, lyricist, and singer. In 2002, he moved to Mumbai where he gained huge acclaim for his acting in the Bollywood films including ‘Maqbool’ (2003) and ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ (2012).

Dilip Suryavanshi is the Chairman & Managing Director at Dilip Buildcon Ltd. He has over 36 years of experience in the business of construction. He has been the Director of the Company since its incorporation.

Abhijit Sukhdane

The privilege and pride of reviving the completely extinct Dhrupad from Gwalior goes to Abhijit Sukhdane. As a result of many free-of-cost awareness activities done for Dhrupad Kendra, the Dhrupad center was established by the Government of Madhya Pradesh Culture Department in the year 2010 under the guidance of Sukhdane.

Girish Agarwal is the Managing Director of Dainik Bhaskar Corp Ltd. He has been on the Board of Company since inception. He has approximately 30 years of experience in the printing & publishing of newspaper business and has been part of the organization for same number of years.

Sudhir Bhai Goyal is working tirelessly for the last 47 years for the upliftment of the abandoned & neglected section of the society. The values inculcated in him by his parents and the inspiration from freedom fighters, many from his family itself, had a profound influence on him. His love and affection towards children can be gauged by the fact that he lost his left eye while saving children in Panchmarhi (MP) in 1979.

Aarya Chavda

Ardent and zealous reformer of change, 12-year-old Aarya Chavda began her journey as an author, illustrator, speaker, heritage and environment crusader, at the age of 6. Since then, she has been fundraising for a cause by donating her art and book proceeds for the welfare of underprivileged cancer patients.

Rohit Singh Tomar is the managing director of M/s R Sai Logistics India Pvt Ltd. He started his professional career in the year 2000 with R Sai Logistics India Pvt Ltd. with only 50 trucks which has now expanded to 3000 trucks. This is a huge achievement in itself. Today he needs no introduction in the industrial world.

Megha Parmar, born in a farmer’s home in Bhoj, a district in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh, has given a camel flight to her dreams. She is the daughter of a lower-middle-class farmer hailing from the Bhoj Nagar village in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh. Her successful climb over the highest and the most daunting mountain peak in the world at 8,848 m has made not only her village and state, but the entire country proud. A news report in one of the local newspapers about two boys from Madhya Pradesh climbing the Mount Everest inspired her for taking on the challenge. The fact that no woman from her state had ever achieved the feat further motivated her.

Vikas Bhaduaria a senior journalist and anchor working with Hindi news channel ABP News. He has quite an extensive experience from the ground. Be it political reporting or reporting on socio economic status of the region, he has done it all. He is also a man who can easily bring out breaking stories directly from the headquarters of the BJP.

Renu Sharma

Dr Renu Sharma belongs to a family that has served the nation in the war of independence, a family with a rich heritage but humble background.

Dr Renu did her MBBS, MD Anaesthetics from Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. There she learned about not just the science of the human body but also the meaning of life. She had realized that the soul is the essence of life.

 

Dr Prakash Jain

Inspite of being life member of Indian academy of Paediatrics, Indian medical association, Indian Red cross society and founder President/Managing Director of a Charitable Samiti named ‘SARVODAYA SEWA. Working in a small village town Tendukheda at the northern side of Narmada river in district Narsinghpur of Madhya Pradesh. He is an MBBS and DCH (Child Specialist working since 1976 in the field of Child Health Care). His motto of life is to serve the students belonging to economically weaker background, labours, farmers, Schedule castes/tribes by providing them good education through esteemed institutions.

Rajneet Jain

Mr. Rajneet Jain is the Founding Member of Gyan Ganga Group of Institutions and Executive Secretary and the Back Bone of the Group. The Gyan Ganga Group was started with a clear vision to impart Quality Education the Central Part of India. Champions of Change is an Indian award, for promoting Gandhian values, (Swachata), community service and social development (in Aspirational district in India), selected by constitutional jury members headed by K.G. Balakrishnan, Former Chief Justice of India and Former Chairman NHRC along with Former Judge of Supreme Court of India. Champions of Change Telangana award is a state version of Champions of change national award.

IFIE annually organizes Champions of Change Award at International, National and state-Level in India and it is usually presented by the President, Vice-President, Governor or a leading figure of India. Mr. Nandan Jha is the founder and Chairman of Champions of Change Award.
