The highly prestigious national award Champions of Change Award 2021 was organized on 26 February 2023 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Former Hon’ble President of India Sh. Ram Nath Kovind was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Sh. Ram Nath Kovind conferred the awardees with Gold medal and certificates.
The dignitaries who were awarded were Union Minister, Revolutionary Laxmi Sehgal, Legendary author Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Pt Chhannulal Misra, Sub Major Sanjay Kumar, Former PS to Hon'ble PM of India Sh Nripendra Misra, Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, Sh Anuj Wahi, Dr Sundeep Aanand, Former Union Minister Ashok Pradhan, Founder of MeghaShrey NGO Seema Singh, Film Actress Juhi Chawla, Indian actor R Madhavan, Astrologer Sohini Sastri, Dr Mir Jawad Zar Khan, Dhyara Batra, and Sh Debashish Patnaik.
Union Cabinet Minister in the Ministry of Jal Shakti Sh Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was chosen as one of the awardees for the ceremony. On his behalf, his wife Smt Naunand Kanwar ji received the award. In his facebook post, he said that it will further strengthen my determination for social service and this achievement will motivate fur further social reforms. He also thanked the jury and Advocate Nandan Jha for recognizing his efforts.
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat is a politician from Rajasthan who has dedicated his life to serving the people of his state. He is currently serving as Union Cabinet Minister in the Ministry of Jal Shakti and is a member of parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) representing Jodhpur in the Lok Sabha.
But his journey into politics was not sudden or accidental; it was a natural progression from his earlier roles in various forums and organisations. Before entering electoral politics, Shekhawat held many positions in many forums and organisations, working tirelessly for the social change and helping the people in every capacity he could.
Through his involvement with these organisations, Shekhawat has demonstrated a deep commitment to the betterment of society. He has always been driven by the desire to help those who are less fortunate and to make a positive impact on the lives of the people around him.
Today, Shekhawat is recognised as a socially-conscious politician who is committed to improving the lives of the people of Rajasthan. He has taken up several initiatives to address the pressing issues facing the state, particularly in the areas of water conservation and rural development. For his dedicative service to several causes, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat is being conferred with the Champions of Change Award, 2021.
Champions of Change is an Indian award, for promoting Gandhian values, (Swachata), community service and social development in Aspirational (undeveloped) districts in India, selected by Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, Former Chief Justice of India and Former Chairman NHRC along with former judges of the Supreme Court of India, diplomats and senior journalists.
Interactive Forum on Indian Economy annually organizes Champions of Change Award at International, National and state-Level in India and it is usually presented by the President, Vice-President, Governor or the constitutional persons of India. From this year onwards, this award will be organized internationally at Washington DC, USA by the name of ‘Global Champion of Change’. Advocate Nandan Jha is the founder and Chairman of Champions of Change Award.
