World Peacekeeper Jainacharya Dr. Lokeshmuni, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, Senior Journalist Dr. Ved Pratap Vaidik, Former Chief Justice of India Justice KG Balakrishnan addressed a webinar based on the five-day 'Gandhi Memorial Lecture Series' organized by the Gandhi Mandela Foundation on the occasion of the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. In this webinar, discussions were held on spreading the thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi in the present time and a large number of people from many countries connected through online medium.
Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, President of 'Gandhi Mandela Foundation' congratulated the Chairman of the Foundation Mr. Nandan Jha for promoting ‘Gandhism’. He also extended his best wishes to all the people associated with the foundation and said that when we discuss, contemplate or remember about Mahatma Gandhi, then we usually remember one of his great principles, ‘Satyagraha’. “On the basis of this Satyagraha, he destroyed the Britishers and all their governance system and forced them to leave our country”, he added. He further said that all the movements of Mahatma Gandhi teach the power of retribution against tyranny. During this, he specially threw light on the civil disobedience movement, the non-cooperation movement run by Mahatma Gandhi.
The founder of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharati and internationally renowned Jainacharya Dr Lokesh ji said in the lecture series that on the 152nd anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, let us all take a pledge that Gandhiji's ideas in truth, cleanliness, environment and moral education are valuable and are a source of inspiration for all of us.
President of Parmarth Niketan Swami Chidanand Saraswati said that Mahatma Gandhi made many efforts for non-violence, peace, nation building, cleanliness, environmental protection and moral education in the society. He further said that the thoughts of Mahatma Gandhiji are needed more by the younger generation and society at present so that they can be able to play an important role in nation building.
Dr. Ved Pratap Vaidik, Senior Advisor of the Gandhi Mandela Foundation, while highlighting the life of Mahatma Gandhi said that Gandhi was a symbol of love, service and sacrifice. And we have been greatly influenced by his ideology. During this, Dr. Ved Pratap Vaidik explained the movement run by him ranging from civil disobedience to Chauri Chaura incident to salt movement. He further said that there is a need to adopt the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi in the present day by the younger generation and society. At the same time, he urged all the younger generation to not promote capitalism and benignism.
The jury member of 'Gandhi Mandela Foundation' Justice KG Balakrishnan shared his experiences of Gujarat in front of everyone and addressed this webinar discussing Gandhi's sacrifices.
