At least 14 people injured after flyover collapses in Mumbai

All those who were injured were rushed to a nearby hospital and their condition is stable, the city's civic body- the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) - said in statement, news agency ANI reported

In the early hours of Friday morning, a portion of a flyover under construction in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex collapsed, resulting in at least 14 injuries.

All those who were injured were rushed to a nearby hospital and their condition is stable, the city's civic body- the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) - said in statement, news agency ANI reported.

The flyover collapsed at around 4.40 am.

Visuals shared by news agency ANI showed the chaos at the accident site amid rescue operations.

“A portion of the under-construction flyover connecting BKC main road and Santa Cruz–Chembur Link Road collapsed around 4:30 am. 13 people have sustained minor injuries & have been shifted to a hospital. There is no life loss and no person is missing," said DCP (Zone 8) Manjunath Singe.

After being informed about the incident, police and fire brigade personnel along with other authorities rushed to the spot. As per the preliminary report, the workers, who are in the age group of 21 to 49 years, were carrying out some work on the girder when it fell down, said the officials.
