Bollywood actress and Champions of Change award winner Hema Malini was conferred with the Indian Film Personality of the Year Award at the 52nd edition of the International Film Festival of India on November 20.
The award, which is conferred upon an outstanding Indian film personality for his or her extraordinary contribution to the world of cinema, was presented to the actress jointly by the Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Loganathan Murugan, and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

Hema Malini, who made her acting debut in 1963 with the Tamil film 'Idhu Sathiyam' and later made her entry into Hindi cinema as the lead actress of 'Sapno Ka Saudagar' in 1968, has acted in a number of films, many of which, including 'Sholay', went on to become super hits.
While veteran actress Hema Malini and Goa CM Pramod Sawant were awarded the prestigious Champions of Change Award 2020, Minister of I&B Anurag Thakur has been awarded the Champions of Change Award 2019.

Champions of Change is an Indian award, for promoting Gandhian values, (Swachata), community service and social development (in Aspirational district in india), selected by constitutional jury members headed by K.G. Balakrishnan, Former Chief Justice of India and Former Chairman NHRC. It is given annually in four categories, and usually presented by the President, Vice-President, Prime Minister of India or a leading figure. Mr. Nandan Jha is the founder and head of Champions of Change Award.
The inaugural Champions of Change Award was held in 2018 and it was distributed by the Vice-President of India M.Venkaiah Naidu at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
