Veteran Actress & Member of Parliament Hema Malini has been awarded the prestigious Champions of Change Award 2020. She has been chosen for the award by a constitutional jury headed by K.G. Balakrishnan, Former CJI and Former Chairman, NHRC.
Hema Malini took to Twitter to share her happiness after winning the Champions of Change Award 2020.

Considered to be one of the most successful actresses of her time in Hindi cinema history, Hema was elected to the Rajya Sabha, the upper House of parliament from 2003 to 2009. In 2014, Hema was elected to the Lok Sabha. Hema has also been involved with charitable and social ventures. Currently, she is also a life member of ISKCON. She has been praised by critics for her dancing and acting.
After being felicitated Hema Malini said, “I am delighted to be conferred this prestigious award. This award is presented to me for my contribution in various fields i.e. as an actress, a classic dancer and also my role as an MP of Mathura, one of the largest constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. I am honoured to know that the selection of these awards is done by one of the most eminent jury comprising of Hon’ble K.G. Balakrishnan ji and Hon’ble Gyan Sudha Mishra ji. Working for the people of Lord Krishna’s land is closest to my heart. As an MP of Mathura, it is my proud privilege to receive the award and I also want to congratulate all other winners”. She also thanked Mr. Nandan Jha, the founder and head of Champions of Change Award for designing such a platform to encourage the noble champions of social change.
Champions of Change is an Indian award, for promoting Gandhian values, (Swachata), community service and social development (in Aspirational district in india), selected by constitutional jury members headed by K.G. Balakrishnan, Former Chief Justice of India and Former Chairman NHRC. It is given annually in four categories, and usually presented by the President, Vice-President, Prime Minister of India or a leading figure. Mr. Nandan Jha is the founder and head of Champions of Change Award.
The inaugural Champions of Change Award was held in 2018 and it was distributed by the Vice-President of India M.Venkaiah Naidu at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The second edition was held in 2019 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi and awards were given by the then President of India, Sh. Pranab Mukherjee. Jharkhand CM Sh. Hemant Soren and Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia were among the recipients of awards.
