The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) will launch three passenger satellites in a big mission on Thursday. The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) will liftoff at 6:00 pm from the Second Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
The countdown for the mission began on Wednesday, nearly 25 hours before the mission, indicating a healthy system and a launch vehicle on the pad. The spacecraft will liftoff with three satellites from Singapore being launched by NewSpace India Limited (NSIL).
NSIL, a corporate arm of the Department of Space (DOS) is launching the mission under its agreement with Singapore in what is the second commercial mission for the body.
The spacecraft will deploy the three missions in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) at an altitude of 570 km measured from the equator. This is the 55th mission of PSLV and the 15th mission using the PSLV-Core Alone variant. It is the 16th PSLV launch from the second launch pad.
