Congress MP Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to the Pulwama martyrs during his Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
The tributes came days after senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh stoked controversy by demanding proof of the 2016 Balakot surgical strike and a report on the 2019 Pulwama terror attack.
The Congress tweeted photos of Rahul Gandhi paying floral tribute to 40 jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who were targeted by a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist on February 14, 2019.
"Our tribute to the soil, which has in it the blood of the brave martyrs of Pulwama attack. Today during Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi paid homage to the brave soldiers who were martyred in Pulwama attack," the Congress said in a tweet.

On Monday, Digvijaya Singh had questioned the surgical strikes and accused the Central government of peddling lies, drawing furious reaction from the BJP, which said the opposition party was blinded by its "hate" for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has "insulted" the armed forces.
