A letter has been written to 'India Today' Group on behalf of Rashtrapati Bhavan. The letter, written by the President's Press Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh to Arun Puri, Chairman and Editor-in-chief of the 'India Today' Group, talks of misleading news on Subhash Chandra Bose's birth anniversary.
The letter said that misleading information was spread by a section of journalists about the unveiling of Netaji’s photo on his birth anniversary by President Ramnath Kovind that the picture is not of Netaji but of Prasanjeet Chatterjee instead. Similar claims were made on social media by Rajdeep Sardesai, Senior journalist of India Today Group.
In the letter, written by the Press Secretary of the President, Ajay Kumar Singh, on behalf of the Rashtrapati Bhavan said that the motives behind dragging the Rashtrapati Bhavan in the controversy by some of the journalists associated with the India Today group are not clear.
However it is disappointing that journalists did not consider it necessary to investigate the facts related to it. Nor did they feel it necessary to talk to any member of Netaji's family in this regard.
Strongly condemning such an act, Rashtrapati Bhavan has called for a review of the contract with India Today Group in the future. You can read the letter written by Rashtrapati Bhavan here:
