India reported 37,724 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, taking its tally to 11,92,915. As per the union ministry of health and family welfare, the country has 4,11,133 active cases and 7,53,049 have been cured/discharged. With 648 new fatalities, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 28,732.
Meanwhile, India has recorded over six lakh cases in July. Notably, the country had 5.9 lakh cases till June 30.
Maharashtra continues to record the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country followed by Tamil Nadu.
Maharashtra has recorded 3,27,031 COVID-19 cases so far. As of now, the state has 1,32,538 active cases and 1,82.217 have been cured/discharged. 12,276 patients have succumbed due to t the deadly contagious disease.
Tamil Nadu has the second-highest number of infections at 1,80,643 followed by Delhi at 1,25,096, Karnataka at 71,069, Uttar Pradesh at 53,288, Gujarat at 50,379, Andhra Pradesh at 58,668 and Telangana at 47,705.
47,030 cases have been reported from West Bengal, 31,373 in Rajasthan, 28,952 in Bihar, 27,462 in Haryana, 25,382 in Assam and 24,095 in Madhya Pradesh.
