The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, on 23rd August, appointed IAS Vijaya Lakshmi Nadendla as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
Nadendla, a 1995-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Bihar cadre, has been appointed as joint secretary for a combined tenure of five years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders.
As per the official statement, "Vijaya Lakshmi Nadendla, lAS (BH:1995) appointed as Joint Secretary Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, for a tenure of five years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Vivek Aggarwal, lAS (MP:1994)."
The appointment of Nadendla along with several others has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) which is headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as per the order by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Talking about the others who have been appointed by the central government are Abhay Singh, a 2004 IAS batch of the Bihar cadre, and Priya Ranjan, from 1998-batch Indian Forest Service officer, Rajasthan cadre.
