Western Coalfields Limited's (WCL) Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Manoj Kumar has been entrusted with the additional charge of CMD of Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL).
According to an order issued by the Ministry of Coal, the appointment of Kumar as CMD of CMPDIL will be effective for a period of six months from May 1 or till the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post, or till the further orders, whichever is earlier. Kumar had assumed the charge of CMD of WCL on January 1, 2021. Prior to this, he was serving as Director (Technical Operations) of WCL.
Kumar is a mining engineer with distinction from the Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad, 1985 batch. He obtained first-class mine manager’s certificate of competency in the year 1989. He also obtained an M Tech degree in rock excavation engineering from ISM, Dhanbad, in 1993-94 and is a recipient of gold medal.
