The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has appointed Surender Mehra (IFoS) as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on 23rd April. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Mehra has been appointed to the post for a period of up to February 4, 2024 (combined 5 years) from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Mehra, an Indian Forest Service officer of the 1999-batch is an engineering graduate from NIT-Kurukshetra and an alumnus of the National Law School of India University. He has been a Field Director of Corbett Tiger Reserve. Currently, he is serving as DIG of the National Tiger Conservation Authority.
