At least 22 people died in separate rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh on Friday as heavy rain caused havoc in the state. There doesn't appear to be much reprieve for the residents of Uttar Pradesh as additional rain is expected in the state's eastern regions on Saturday, according to the weather service.
"Fairly widespread/ widespread light/moderate rainfall with heavy to very heavy rainfall & thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Uttarakhand & Uttar Pradesh during 15th-17th and over West Madhya Pradesh on 15th September, 2022," the IMD said.

As many as nine labourers were buried alive under the debris when an under-construction wall in Lucknow collapsed on their huts.
The 13 additional deaths were recorded from Unnao (five), Fatehpur (three), Prayagraj (two), Sitapur, Raebareli, and Jhansi, according to officials speaking to news agency PTI (one each).
