Kamal Haasan has been discharged from Sri Ramachandra Hospital in Chennai today (January 22). Due to an infection in his right leg, he had to undergo surgery on January 19. According to the doctors and his daughters Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan, the surgery was successful. Kamal Haasan has been advised to take rest at home for at least a week.
He will be heading to his home in the East Coast Road (ECR), where he will recuperate. Soon, he will get back to work in films and politics.
The Vishwaroopam 2 actor had to undergo a surgery in his ankle, which was a follow-up surgery to the fatal fall that he took in 2016. Kamal Haasan has had several surgeries in the past and has about 16 fractures in his body.
The press statement from Sri Ramachandra Hospital read, "Sri Kamal Haasan was admitted to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre for a follow-up surgery in view of a mild infection of his right leg bone. He underwent surgery for the removal of the infective focus in the Tibial bone. He is stable and recovering well."
Kamal Haasan will resume campaigning for his party Makkal Needhi Maiam once he recuperates from the surgery.
