Gopal Italia, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Gujarat, was detained and transported to the Sarita Vihar police station by the Delhi Police.

The National Commission of Women (NCW) called the AAP leader in relation to a video where he is allegedly heard making disparaging statements about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After NCW chair Rekha Sharma tweeted about a commotion outside her office as the women's panel summoned Gopal Italia, the detention followed.
