Another encouraging news for the nationalist party. And the news is from BJP's new found land- West Bengal. Now the BJP has taken over its first civic body in the state. And as the councillor from ward 20, Mr Saurav Singh has been elected as the Chairman.
The BJP inroads in the state proved fruitful and now BJP took control of Bhatpara Municipality which is going to be the party’s first civic body in West Bengal. Prior to this Civic Body beginning.
Not only that, the ideology of the nationalist party along with the popularity of Modi also convinced the Trinmool Congress leaders to leave their party for BJP. Resultantly 50 TMC leaders joined the BJP recently.
As is known, Bhatpara comes under the Barrackpore Lok Sabha constituency. Though 8 of the councillors were absent during the voting, still with 26 votes in the civic body of 34 wards in the civic body of 34 wards, Mr Sourav Singh won the Chairmanship here. The remaining eight councillors were absent, PTI reported.
