Docs din’t Pay Heed to Mamta’s Call

Protesting doctors turn down invite of the CM’s call for talks, asking her to apologize first

In Kolkata, on one side, doctors refused to call off the strike, on the other hand AIMMS’ resident doctors issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the Chief Minister to meet demands.

Striking junior doctors turned down West Bengal Chief Minister’s invitation for meeting. Mamta Banerjee wishing to meet the docs at the State Secretariat called the meeting to resolved the impasse, but in vain. The docs did not pay any heed to her invite and continued their protest for the fifth consecutive day today on Saturday.

As is well known, the  protesting doctors are up against the assault on two of their colleagues at NRS Medical College and Hospital. The doctors yesterday, on Friday, sought unconditional apology from Mamta Banerjee. They also set six conditions for the state government in order to withdraw their stir.
