Famous Telugu actor Allu Arjun was honoured with the Champions of Change Telangana award for his exceptional contribution in the field of culture and social welfare.
The first ever Champions of Change Telangana Award was held on 25 February 2022 at Taj Deccan- Kohinoor Hall in Hyderabad, Telangana. Eminent personalities from the state of Telangana were honoured for their immense contribution towards the society.
Some of the other esteemed personalities who were felicitated at the award ceremony were Gastroenterologist and Padma Bhushan awardee Dr Nageswar Reddy, Badminton champion and Padma Bhushan PV Sindhu, Member of Telangana Legislative Assembly Pilot Rohith Reddy and Telugu actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
Allu Arjun is an Indian film actor who primarily works in Telugu cinema. In 1985, at the age of two; he worked as a child artist in the film Vijetha. Sixteen years later, Arjun made a cameo appearance as Gopi, a dancer, in the 2001 film Daddy directed by Suresh Krissna. Then he appeared in Kovelamudi Raghavendra Rao‘s Gangotri.
Arjun then appeared in Sukumar’s movie Arya, and for his role in Arya, he received his first breakthrough in the film industry and lead him to gain more fans and he also received many special and most privileged awards for his role in the movie.
Arjun even produced and acted in the short film ‘I Am That Change’ in the year 2014, to spread awareness on individual social responsibility. The movie was directed by Sukumar, which was broadcasted in theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on 15 August 2014.
He has won three Filmfare Best Telugu Actor Awards for Parugu, Vedam and Race Gurram two Nandi Special Jury Awards for Arya and Parugu, and CineMAA Award for Best Actor Male for Gangotri and Race Gurram. Allu Arjun was also placed in the Forbes India in the Top 50 India 2015 Celebrity (100) list. He also does Social Works in which he helps the mentally challenged child and donates blood.
Champions of Change is an Indian award, for promoting Gandhian values, (Swachata), community service and social development (in Aspirational district in India), selected by constitutional jury members headed by K.G. Balakrishnan, Former Chief Justice of India and Former Chairman NHRC along with Former Judge of Supreme Court of India. Champions of Change Telangana award is a state version of Champions of change national award.
IFIE annually organizes Champions of Change Award at International, National and state-Level in India and it is usually presented by the President, Vice-President, Governor or a leading figure of India. Mr. Nandan Jha is the founder and Chairman of Champions of Change Award.
