Thirteen people lost their lives and several were rescued after the floor covering a well at a temple in Indore sank while Ram Navami celebrations were underway on Thursday.
The Shri Baleshwar temple in the city's Sneh Nagar neighbourhood was where the incident was first reported.
Following the incident, numerous films depicted the mayhem and rescue efforts at the shrine.
Ten people have been so far rescued following the incident. Speaking to reporters, Indore Collector Ilaiya Raj said that four bodies have been recovered so far.
According to the information received by reporters, the covering of the well collapsed while worshippers were standing over it inside the temple.
Efforts were on to rescue those still trapped inside the well.
