Team India’s First Step Towards the World Cup

It was more a defeat of South Africa rather than an Indian victory

India starts the world cup campaign with victory. Defeating South Africa Team India joined the party and now there are bigger challenges awaiting its sporting chivalry.

Evening carnival at Hampshire’s Rose Bowl witnessed the Indian dominance against the Chokers. They proved their tag right and started the tourney with the defeat and continued so far with three defeats constantly.

An unbeaten century by Rohit Sharma was the key to Indian side success whereas on the bowling front Yujwendra Chahal dominated the Proteas. RoHit Sharma was the catalyst throughout his innings whereas Indian bowlers specially boom boom Boomrah and Chahal were the factor of the flop show of the South Africans.

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah sent both South African openers to pavilion with a breathtaking five-over spell taking two wickets giving only thirteen runs. Chahal never gave them a chance to stand tall on the ground and finally in the next batting inning of India Hardik Pandya struck the winning runs. And now the Men in Blue are going to play Australians on coming Sunday, 9th of June, 2019.

Team India’s wisdom on the ground supported their status among the World Cup favourites. Now after around a weak the week teams like Shri Lanka, South Afrika do not seem to be in the race. On the other hand India, England, Australia and West Indies are marching on with their banners flying high.

Though morally down South Africa has nothing to clear about their fall in the performance still one of their promising allrounders still gives a hint of their firm confidence saying, “We know what we need to do - win the next six games,” said all-rounder Chris Morris.
