WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has remained tightlipped on his resignation and has said that he will reply later.
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate on Friday slammed the BJP government for not taking action on allegations levelled against the WFI. "This is the pattern of the government. Despite the big allegations, the government does nothing," she said.
The opposition parties have slammed Union Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani for remaining silent on the wrestlers' protest. India's top wrestlers have levelled charges of sexual harassment of women wrestlers by the president and coaches of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), demanding their resignation and strong action against them.
