On Saturday, a number of wrestlers in protest could be spotted outside the Arun Jaitely stadium in the capital. At a joint news conference, they made the claim that the Delhi Police had refused them access to the IPL game that was taking place there. Bronze medalist for Tokyo 2020, Bajrang Punia, backed this up.

Bajrang Punia claimed that the wrestlers had bought tickets for the DC vs CSK match. Despite this, they were not allowed to enter the stadium, he said. "We had tickets and we were going to watch the match, but police stopped us. We want to know why," he said.

Other wrestlers joined Punia, including Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat. They have been demonstrating against Brij Bhushan Singh, the president of the Wrestlers Federation of India (WFI), alleging sexual harassment.

Reacting to the claims made by the wrestlers, the Delhi Police called them "misleading" and said no one with a ticket was denied entry to the stadium.

"No valid ticket or pass holders were stopped. Everyone was given entry through their assigned gates," an official said.

Police reported that just five of the spectators had tickets, despite the fact that 10 to 12 wrestlers and others had entered the stadium to witness the match. According to a senior police official, "those without tickets or passes were not allowed to enter."
