Mr. Tahir Qadiry has been nominated for the prestigious Gandhi Mandela Award to be held later this year.

Qadiry was appointed by H.E. the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan as Minister Counsellor and assumed charge as Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the I.R of Afghanistan on 18th June 2019. He is an award-winning journalist who has vast experience of working in big and popular international media.

Prior to his appointment in India, he served as Director General of Mitra Global TV network (Nationwide) from 2015 till May 2019. He also served in various international governmental and non-governmental organizations within and outside Afghanistan.

Qadiry has participated in many international conferences on Afghanistan.
